Field games must for overall development of youth : Mayor
Jalandhar, 03 December 2021 : Mayor of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Mr Jagdish Raj Raja today said that field games play an important role in the overall development of youth.
Interacting with the youth during second day of Jalandhar Heights Cricket Premier League, the Mayor said that apart from ensuring good health such games go a long way in preparing a good mental equilibrium of the youth. He said that these physical games go a long way in ensuring good health of the youth thereby making them a good and responsible citizens. Mr Raja said that it is need of hour to utilise the unbounded energy of the youth in a positive manner.
The Mayor also lauded the efforts made by organising committee ‘Warrior Groups’ for taking this path breaking initiative. He said that such efforts must be replicated by other social groups too for the betterment of society. Mr Raja also assured fulsome support and cooperation to the NGO for this pious initiative.
Meanwhile, the President of NGO Warriors groups Mr Varun Kohli informed that this tournament was organised annually by them. He said that this year four teams are participating in the tournament which is being organised on league basis. Mr Kohli also thanked Mr Sukhdev Singh from AGI infra for providing requisite logistic help to the NGO for smooth conduct of the event.
Earlier, organising committee of Warrior groups led by Mr Varun Kohli, Mr Rajinder Raja, Mr Ankur Dhuria, Mr Nitin Puri, Mr Davinder Saini, Mr Anudeep Bajaj, Mr Vikas Sharma, Mr Ankur Sehgal , Mr Sanjeev Ahuja, Mr Kamal Sehgal, Mr Manpreet Gaba, Mr Shamil Menno, Mr Sanjeev Arora, Mr Bobby Ratan, Mr Vishal Gumber and others welcomed the dignitaries on the occasion.
On the occasion Col. Ajay Tikker, Ashok Palta, Tajinder Singh, Anil Chadha, Shamil Menon Councillors Manmohan Raju, vipan Chadha, Bunty Neelkanth, Mohinder Singh Gullu and Jagdish Gagg were also present.
