After Chandigarh, Mohali—Jalandhar adopts e-challan system
(Rajinder Kumar) Chandigarh, 29 September 2025: Jalandhar has rolled out the e-challan system, enabling traffic fines to be issued directly to violators at home. Around 1,300 CCTV cameras have been activated across the city, monitoring red light jumps, zebra crossing violations, and other traffic offences.
From today, challans are being issued at key locations including BMC Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, and Ambedkar Chowk. Within the next two days, the system will be fully operational citywide, ending on-the-spot arguments and recommendations at police checkpoints.
