Jalandhar tops in state by covering 88.08 percent beneficiaries under AB-Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna: DC
DC Says, district takes giant leap from 15th to first position within a few months due to meticulous planning and effective implementation
Jalandhar, June 30, 2021: In another distinction in the implementation of flagship programs of the government, Jalandhar district has been ranked first in the state by covering 88.08 percent beneficiaries under the sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna. This included maximum enrolment and e-card generation under the scheme aimed at imparting quality health services to people.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Ghanshyam Thori said that under the Yojna eligible beneficiaries were entitled for cashless Health benefits upto Rs 5 lakh. He said that Jalandhar has targeted family group of 2.62 lakh out of which till date 2.30 lakh have already been covered for enrolment and e-card generation. Mr Thori said that 5.30 lakh individual cards have been generated so far in district.
The Deputy Commissioner said that this was about 88.08 % of the total beneficiaries. He said that Jalandhar has been able to secure this distinction within a few months as in December the percentage of total beneficiaries was only 46.13 % with only 1.31 lakh families covered under it due to which Jalandhar was on 15th rank in the state.
However, the Deputy Commissioner said that with renewed zeal and thrust to extend benefits of this scheme propelled the district administration to able to secure first place within a few months. Complementing the entire team of district administration for this rare feat, he said that this was fruit of hard work and diligent efforts made by all of them. He added that tireless efforts of entire team comprising all SMOs, BDPOs, CDPOs, SDMs, DPO, and other line departments has made the district administration able to achieve this status.
The DC exhorted the people to get themselves enrolled so that 100 percent beneficiaries could be benefited.
