Chandigarh, 20 February 2022 : Voting has begun for 117 assembly seats in Punjab. Voters are thronging the polling booths. The state has witnessed 4.80% polling during the first hour of voting till 9 am. 6.20% in the Lambi seat of former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal, 8% in Patiala seat of former CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Only 1.10% in Amritsar East seat of  Congress Chief Navjot Sidhu and Senior Shiromani Akali Leader Bikram Singh Majithia, voting from CM Charanjit Singh Channi constituency Bhadaur seat noticed 6.50% and 7% in Chamkaur Sahib, 5% done in Dhuri seat of Bhagwant Mann and 8% in Jalalabad seat of former Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal.

The lowest turnout in Sidhu’s seat has been a surprise. However, if we talk about Amritsar district, 4.14% polling has been done there so far. In this context too, there has been a very low turnout in Sidhu’s seat.
