1031 patients facilitated by Mobile Medical Unit in last three months
Sangrur, 05 August 2021 : Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mobile Medical Unit van is proving to be beneficial for the people living in the villages and disadvantaged areas of the district to provide quality health services close to their homes. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir. said that while the health department was making efforts to reach out to the people for sampling and vaccination through camps to control the corona pandemic, the state government has been provided advance treatment facilities in the government hospitals in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner said that from April 1, 2021 till June 30, 2021, 1031 patients were examined by the experienced staff of Mobile Medical Unit while providing health services in 53 villages. He said that besides providing free medicines to the needy patients through this mobile medical unit, ECG, lab tests etc. were also provided free of cost on the spot. He said that ECG of 966 patients, X-ray of 29 patients and 565 lab tests were also done through mobile medical unit.
He said that by providing health services to the needy patients through mobile unit, the people of remote areas of the district would get huge benefits. He said that this mobile medical bus was proving to be very useful for delivering medicine to the elderly, disabled, children and other needy people living in the villages of the district who are unable to go to the hospitals.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Anjana Gupta said that the doctors and para medical staff conduct checking of the patients daily in different villages and slums except Sundays and gazetted holidays. She said that a large number of needy people of the district were benefited with this service. She appealed to the residents of the district to avail the required health services whenever the mobile medical bus reach in their respective village.
