PARGAT SINGH KICKSTARTS DEVELOPMENT WORKS WORTH Rs. 3.50 CRORE IN DADUWAL, KANGNIWAL & PHOLRIWAL
Jalandhar, 28 November 2021 : Further accelerating the pace of development works in Jalandhar cantt constituency, Sports & Education Minister Pargat Singh today laid foundation stones of several development projects worth Rs. 3.50 crore in village Daduwal, Kangniwal and Pholriwal. The projects included three sports parks at Rs. 1.59 crore, Chahuwal road at Rs. 18.59 lakh, Daduwal road at Rs. 7.79 lakh, approach road to primary school at Rs. 5.06 lakh, 18 feet widening of 2.90 km Pholriwal road at Rs. 1.50 crore besides Rs.10 lakh each to Panchayats of village Daduwal and Pholriwal.
Underscoring the need to expand the ambit of sports activities in rural areas, the minister said that this move would not only help in producing sports starts but also got acclaimed at national and international level. The strengthening of sports infrastructure in villages would further infuse a sense of sportsmanship in youth, he said adding there would be no paucity of funds for such projects as a large number of such projects to be kick-started in coming days. He announced that as many as 15 state-of-the-art sports parks at an outlay of Rs. 10 crore would come up in the constituency to realise this dream.
Cabinet Minster while laying foundation stone of sports park at village Kangniwal at Rs. 49.08 lakh, followed by Daduwal and Pholriwal worth Rs. 54.05 lakh and Rs. 56.08 lakh respectively, said that all these stadia would be equipped with untramodern sports facilities including play grounds, sprinkle systems, boundary walls, shower systems, changing rooms, rest rooms, laying of grass, and store etc. so that budding players get best of the training here.
Addressing the gathering at these villages, the minister said that the stage government has been according top priority to revamp existing infrastructure besides creating new sports stadiums so as to ensure that budding players get the cities like facilities at village level. He further directed the officials to complete all these projects at within stipulated time frame.
Interacting with Panchayats members here, he assured them smooth flow of funds for development works into their respective villages. He further asked the Panchayats to personally monitor the pace of ongoing works and report if any delay they found. He handed over a cheque of Rs. 10 lakh to the Panchayat of village Pholriwal. He catagorically asked officials to strictly adhere to quality of all the works besides ensuring timely completion.
Meanwhile, the minister interacted with the people and listed to their problems where he issued on the spot directions to officials concerned to resolve them.
Prominent amongst others present on the ocassion included Chairman Market Committee Jalandhar Cantt HS Samra, Sukhwinder Singj Pholdiwal, Chaman Lal Daduwal, Balbir Singh Kangniwal and sarpanches of villages.
