Prompt action by CM on Mann’s demand bring cheers to Congressmen in Phagwara
Phagwara, 13 November 2021 : Congressmen in Phagwara have reason to cheer as acceding to demand made by former Punjab Minister and Chairman Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Joginder Singh Mann, the Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has announced a grant of Rs 10 crore for Khati village, a sacred land associated with Lord Parshuram.
A delegation led by Mann had met Chief Minister during his visit to city on 6th of this month. Mann, who had been MLA from Phagwara thrice, had sought special package for Phagwara. He had also asked the Chief Minister to give a grant of RS 5 crore for development of Khati dhaam a religious place associated with Lord Parshuram ji.
Within five days the Chief Minister had agreed to demand and keeping in view the sanctity and significance of this place sanctioned a grant of RS 10 crore for this place. The Chief Minister had made an announcement in this regard during the recently concluded Vidhan Sabha session. Buoyed over it Congressmen had termed it as a historic decision.
District Coordinator of Congress Daljeet Singh Raju said that Punjab has got a secular and common man’s CM. He said that Mann knows the pulse of every person in Phagwara and this has been vindicated by the fact that CM has announced grant for Khati village. Likewise, District President of Youth Congress Harnoor Singh Harji Mann also welcomed the announcement made by CM.
