Mann seeks special package for Phagwara from CM
Phagwara, 05 November 2021 : Former Punjab Minister and Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation S Joginder Singh Mann today urged the Punjab Chief Minister S Charanjit Singh Channi to give special package for Phagwara assembly segment.
The former Minister met Chief Minister on sidelines of Vishwakarma function here today and congratulated him for taking several path breaking initiatives for progress of state and prosperity of its people. Seeking special package for Phagwara he urged the Chief Minister that Phagwara is a major town of Punjab but due to administrative works residents have to go more than 40 kilometres away at Kapurthala, which is its district headquarter. So to facilitate people, S Mann said that Phagwara must be made a district by including Phillaur, Goraya, Nakodar and few other parts SBS Nagar in it.
Likewise, he demanded that Phagwara must be included in Smart City scheme for its holistic development. He also said that Khati is a historical village falling in Phagwara Sub Division related to Lord Parshuram ji, the Punjab government must announce a grant of RS 5 crore for development of village and shrine. He also said that Most of the SC students have suffered due to discrepancies in post matric scholarship scheme the political leaders and officers, as duly highlighted in his report by then ACS Mr Kirpa Shankar Saroj, involved in this heinous crime must be put behind the bar and exemplary punishment must be ensured to them for ruining career of SC students.
He also sought a state of the art convention centre must be constructed at Phagwara in memory of Bharat Ratna Baba Sahib Dr BR Ambedkar. S Mann also demanded that existing civil hospital in Phagwara must be upgraded with state of the art facilities including trauma centre. He said that in order to impart quality education to youngsters a premier government college must be established in a Phagwara.
Likewise, he said that to open new vistas of self employment for youth by imparting quality technical education a government polytechnic/ ITI must be set up at Phagwara. He also said that As many new localities have come up in and around Phagwara city, so 100% water supply and sewerage facility must be ensured in city. Likewise, he also said that rural road network must be upgraded and strengthened for benefitting commuters. He said that Phagwara is Hub of industry so a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) must be set up in Phagwara and incentives must be given to local industry. He said that these long pending demands of Phagwara residents to usher a new era of unprecedented development under your visionary and dynamic leadership.
