DISTRICT PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER, JALANDHAR OVER TWO MILLION DOSES OF COVID-19 VACCINE ADMINISTERED IN JALANDHAR, 90 PER CENT BENEFICIARIES GET FIRST SHOT- DC GHANSHYAM THORI
Jalandhar, 13 October 2021 : In a significant development, District Administration Jalandhar has covered more than 90 per cent population under the vaccination drive by administering over 20 lakh doses to eligible beneficiaries.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that due to concerted efforts of healthcare and frontline workers, the district has achieved this rare feat. He said that a total of 20,00,560 doses including 13,82,978 first and 6,17,582 second doses have been given so far to beneficiaries which stands at over 90 percent coverage. He further added that around 36 percent of the population has been fully vaccinated with both doses of vaccine.
The DC exhorted the people to come forward for the second dose to complete the vaccination thereby ensuring their safety from the ill-effects of this virus. He further hailed the efforts of officials/officers for their professional commitment in ensuring vaccination of the maximum population mitigating the deadly effects of Covid-19 pandemic.
Pointing out further, District Immunization Officer Rakesh Chopra said that achieving 20 lakh mark could become reality with the converted efforts of officials tasked with this dribe besides people’s participation in the mammoth exercise.
