DC EXHORTS PRIVATE HOSPITALS TO INSTALL PSA BASED OXYGEN PLANTS TO TACKLE THIRD WAVE EFFECTIVELY
Jalandhar, June 12-
Gearing up to tackle the potential third Covid-19 wave, district administration Jalandhar has urged the eight prominent private hospitals to immideatly install their own PSA based oxygen generation plants to become self-reliant in O2 production.
In a written communique to eight hospitals including Innocent Hearts Hospital, Sarvodya, Johal, Neuronova, Maan Medicity, Oxford, Caremax, and Ghai Hospital, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori has called upon these establishments to emulate the move already adopted by various hospitals by installing their oxygen generation plants.
Divulging the details, the deputy commissioner stated that several hospitals including NHS, New Rubi, Shrimann Super Speciality, Tagore, Patel, PIMS, and Capitol hospitals have already installed oxygen generation plants in their premises. He added that the remaining hospitals should follow this initiative, which would enable these healthcare establishments to meet the requirement during the possible third wave, whenever it hits. It would also reduce dependency for O2 from the other states, he said.
The DC lauded the efforts of hospitals that have already installed these plants acceding to the appeals of administration. He added that installing such plants would not only make hospitals oxygen-independent but also allow them to extend unhindered quality care to their patients in a future crisis if any, he added.
The DC said that the administration has identified eight hospitals, who need to install PSA plants to be able to cater to the patients more effectively. The hospitals require more than 50 oxygen cylinders daily, should install their own plants he said. He mentioned that with collective efforts only, we can achieve the goal of becoming self-reliant in oxygen generation.
