Recovery rate of COVID-19 patients reaches at 95.16%

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 2110 active patients in the district at present.

He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 139 patients (115 new patients from district Ludhiana and 24 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours.

He further said that till date, a total of 1477380 samples have been taken, out of which a report of 1477001 samples have been received, of which 1380045 samples were found negative while reports of 379 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 85704, while 11252 patients belong to other districts/states.

He said that unfortunately, 9 patients lost their lives today (6 from district Ludhiana while one each from districts Fatehgarh Sahib, Hoshiarpur and state Uttar Pradesh). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 2041 people from Ludhiana and 1010 from other districts.

He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 12391 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere all the safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently of the Punjab government to not only save themselves but keeping everyone around safe.
