NIIFT Ludhiana organises counselling session for students of 10+2 at Fazilka

Ludhiana, 24th July 2024 : Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT) was set up at Mohali in 1995 by the Govt. of Punjab under the Department of Industries & Commerce. NIIFT is imparting education in the field of Design, Management and Technology where aspiring students come from all over the country to seek admission and benefit from its educational programs. The Institute has grown with each passing year adding new courses and continuously evolving strong relations with the garment industry. For providing industry with trained professionals in Fashion business, NIIFT, Mohali has also set up two Centres at Ludhiana and Jalandhar in the year 2008 and 2009 respectively.

With the instructions of DPS Kharbanda, IAS, Secretary (Investment Promotion) – cum-Director Industries and Commerce and Director General, NIIFT and Shivpal Goyal, DEO (Secondary), the counselling sessions about the career opportunities in apparel sector has been organised at School of Eminence and Govt Senior Secondary School, Fazilka.

During the session, Harpreet Singh, Assistant Professor, NIIFT, Ludhiana was the key resource person and briefed about the career opportunities and avenues available in the Textile and Apparel Sector and informed that NIIFT conducted professional and vocational programs in the field of Fashion, Design & Clothing Technology and Apparel Merchandising etc. as per the needs of the Apparel & Textile Industry in Punjab.

He also aspired the youth from the border district to join NIIFT and be a part of the fashion fraternity and ensured them that the adequate support will be provided by the institute to succeed in the profession. Dr. Simrita Singh, Principal, NIIFT, Rakesh Kumar Kansal, Registrar, NIIFT, Ludhiana Jaswinder Pal Singh, General Manager, District Industry Centre and Kulwant Verma, Functional Manager, District Industry Centre, Fazilka played a pivotal role in making the career counselling sessions a great success in the border district of Fazilka. More than 250 students benefitted from the today’s session.
