Patiala Military Literature Festival rounded off

Patiala, 29 January 2023 : Patiala’s maiden Military Literature Festival concluded at Khalsa College here today. It introduced the youth to military heroic sagas and motivated them to join the country’s armed forces. Defence Services Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra, who arrived as the chief guest at the closing ceremony, said that the prominent contribution of Punjabis to the armed forces of the country cannot be neglected.
This is the reason that the Punjab government under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has declared an honorarium of Rs 1 crore for martyrs. Minister Jouramajra said that we sleep peacefully at night only due to soldiers. That is why the Punjab government intended to organize military literature festivals in all districts to keep its youth drug-free and to motivate them to become a part of these forces.
Chief Minister’s Media Director Baltej Pannu appreciated the unique initiative of the district administration. MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli said that this Military Literature Festival has connected our youth with their rich heritage. The chairman of the Military Literature Festival Association, Lieut. Gen. T.S. Shergill said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s initiative to hold such a festival across Punjab is praiseworthy. Patiala has a military history of its own, so this fair has been held in Patiala.
Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney extended her gratitude to the Military Literature Festival Association, and the Indian Army She also mentioned that the various events held on both days of the festival inspired the youth to live a disciplined and drug-free future. On closing ceremony , a documentary about Patiala princely state by young historian Simar Singh was also released.
Lt Gen Chetinder Singh, Brigadier Advitay Madan, Col PS Grewal and Nodel officer SDM Charanjit Singh were also present.
