DC launches I Aspire Leadership program in Patiala
– A tenth-grade student Mehfuza inspectes the revenue records and convenes meetings with various departments as one day DC
Patiala, 27 December 2022 : District Commissioner Patiala Sakshi Sawhney initiated a drive to give wings to students of government schools who aspire to achieve heights in their lives. As suggested by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, during a kind visit to Government School Model Town on Mega PTM DC Patiala implemented the drive I Aspire with full enthusiasm.
Mehfuza a student of the tenth class at Government smart school Model Town was the lucky one to be Deputy Commissioner Patiala for one day. Mehfuza attended the meeting on stubble burning and saw revenue records of her village while she was impersonated as DC.
SSP Varun Sharma also told her about the Police administration procedure while she took SSP’s chair for a day. Deputy commissioner Sakshi Sawhney rolled out the I Aspire Leadership program and announced that this practice will be conducted every month for a day. She apprised that a link has already been sent to DEO (secondary) so that schools may register for the program.
Aspiring students (Classes 8-12) will be given chance to meet their role models and also live their professional life for one day. She was sure that this practice will help interested and hardworking students to work towards their goals. DC Patiala also told Mehfuza about various competitive exams and interview processes. Mehfuza ardently listened to all the officials. She was presented with a cheque, a pen and a book by DC Patiala and SSP Patiala as a token of motivation to work hard.
On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Dr Akshita Gupta, ADC Gurpreet Singh Thind, SDM Dr Ismat Vijay Singh, DDF Priya Singh, Makhan Khann father of student and School principal Balbir Singh Joura were also present.
