Phagwara ADC orders display of rate list by every stamp vendor
– Move aimed at checking overcharging from the general public
Phagwara, 13 November 2022 : In a bid to check overcharging from general public, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Phagwara Dr Nayan Jassal has ordered the display of government rate list outside the stamp vendor in the tehsil complex.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner has asked the Sub Registrar to ensure compliance of these orders in true letter and spirit.
In the letter, the Additional Deputy commissioner has categorically said that the stamp vendors should display the government rates of the services being offered to the people. She said that the rates for every service has been already fixed by the state government and no one will be allowed to charge more than that. She said that the rate list will enable people to get the service without shelving any extra penny.
She asked the Sub registrar to ensure that all stamp vendors comply with the orders. She said that the state government led by Chief Minister Mr Bhagwant Mann is committed to provide citizen centric services to people in a smooth, transparent and hassle free manner. She said that she will be personally reviewing the matter and anyone found flouting the orders will be dealt with sternly.
She also urged the public to directly submit the complaint pertaining to any sort of overcharging to her. She assured the people that severest of severe action will be taken against the person found guilty for it. She said that no malpractice of any sort will be allowed and the interest of people will be safeguarded at all costs.
