Exams boost morale of students: Education Secretary

Chandigarh, June 4, 2021: Under the supervision of Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla, 1,40,392 students studying in government schools have given baseline National talent Search Examination (NTSE).

Disclosing this, Today Education Secretary Mr. Krishan Kumar said that the online baseline exam was conducted on 31 May in view of the preparation for the main exams. A total of 1,40,392 students of class X participated in it out of which 10,046 students got more than 80% marks. He said that 104 students performed well and got 100 percent marks. This will definitely boost the morale of the students.

He also said that More than 90 per cent students from government schools in Pathankot and Gurdaspur districts and more than 75 per cent students from government schools in Fatehgarh Sahib, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur and Tarn Taran took part in the NTSE. In this baseline exam, 30 questions related to Mental Ability, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies were given to the students to solve. It will be very useful for teachers and school principals to analyze students in preparation for competitive exams. The Education Secretary directed the District and Block Mentors to pay special attention to the weaknesses of the students. He has asked them to form buddy groups of students to encourage them for better preparation.

He directed all the District Education Officers to pay special attention to the students who scored more than 80% marks so that the required guidance can be given to the students and they can achieve better results in future. He also said that special efforts were being made for the meritorious students studying in the government schools so that they could excel in the competitive examinations in future.
