Inspects busy PPR mall, warns hooligans and criminals of strict punitive action

Jalandhar,  20   April   2022   :   Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Toor today unequivocally said that the Station House Officers (SHOs) will be held accountable for any major crime in their area of jurisdiction.

The Commissioner of Police, who paid a surprise visit at the local PPR mall, Model Town and other localities, said that laxity in maintaining law and order will not be tolerated at any cost.

He said that the SHOs are duty bound to ensure the safety and security of people and any sort of callousness in this duty is unwanted and undesirable. Mr Toor said that Police is meant for service of people and all the officers have to discharge to their duty with utmost professional commitment and dedication.

The Commissioner of Police said that additional force from Commissionerate offices and Police Lines have been deputed for effective Nakabandi and Patrolling across the city. He said that the Gazetted Officers (GOs) of Commissionerate have been asked to stay in the city area till 10 pm. Mr Toor further said that late evening and night duties have been strengthened to check the activities of anti social elements and criminal.

The Commissioner of Police further said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Crime has been asked to make special efforts to solve the last week crime at the earliest. He categorically said that severest of severe action will be taken against the people violating the law.

Soliciting support from the people, the Commissioner of Police said that Police is there to serve the people but a crime free society cannot be carved out without the support of public. He exhorted the people to come forward and support the Police for noble cause. Mr Toor assured people that with their help and cooperation Jalandhar will be made a crime free and safe city.

Meanwhile, at PPR mall, Model Town and other places, the Commissioner of Police asked the Police personnel on duty to take strict action against the traffic violators. He also asked the Police officers to ensure that violation of law, if any, is strictly dealt with and strict action is taken against violators. Mr Toor also said that he had already identified sensitive areas in the city and such random checking will be continued in coming days too.
