SAMSUNG LEFT CHINA AND SHIFTED UNIT TO NOIDA
22 June 2021: South Korean electronic devices company Samsung has shifted from China to Noida in Uttar Pradesh. It has also completed the construction of the display manufacturing unit there.
A delegation of the Samsung led by its CEO Ken Kang (India and South-West Asia) met the chief minister Yogi Adityanath and apprised him of the company’s business activities in the state. A Samsung delegation called upon UP CM on Sunday and cited a better industrial environment and investor-friendly policies behind the decision.
The delegation told Yogi that its Noida-based unit had emerged as the biggest mobile manufacturing and exporting unit in the country due to the Centre’s production-linked incentive policy. The delegates also appreciated the state government’s efforts to fight the second wave of the pandemic.
Adityanath said that the investors and companies of the country and from abroad were enthusiastic about setting up industries in the state. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal also tweeted – “Another boost for Make in India.”
