ROAD FROM CHAK SADHU TO CHAGGRAN TO BE WIDENED TO 18 FEET, WORK TO START SOON : SUNDER SHAM ARORA

HOSHIAPUR, 31 AUGUST 2021 : Punjab Government is further strengthening the road infrastructure in Hoshiarpur by widening the existing 10 feet road from Chak Sadhu to Chaggran to 18 feet as the work on this road project will be started in next few days.

Disclosing this here today, the Industries and Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora said that the project would be accomplished at a cost of Rs. 8.45 crore, which would provide a major relief to heavy traffic volume coming from Himachal Pradesh and other areas.

The Minister said that the widening of road would start from Chak Sadhu leading to Chaggran village on Chandigarh road via villages Mannan, Basi Hast Khan, Malmajara and Bahadur Bahian. Once this road is completed, the incoming traffic on Una Road will get a diversion for Chandigarh from Chak Sadhu, said the Minister adding that the work on this road is all set to begin in next coming days.

Reiterating that no stone will be left unturned for the inclusive development of city and its surrounding areas, the Minister said that Punjab Government had already incurred an amount of Rs. 22.03 crore for construction of 125.62 kilometer link and urban roads. He said that 14 new roads would be made/repaired of which tenders of some roads had already been floated while few another ones were under process to get proposals approved.
