RANA TO FLAG ISSUE OF DEBT WAIVER OF LOANS EXTENDED BY THE ‘OWN FUNDED’ COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES WITH CM

Kapurthala, 7 August 2021 : Former Punjab Minister and MLA Rana Gurjit Singh today said that he will flag up the issue of debt waiver of loans extended by the ‘Own Funded’ Cooperative Societies with the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

Rana Gurjit Singh, accompanied by former Punjab Minister and Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Joginder Singh Mann, gave an assurance to this regard to a delegation who called upon him here at his residence today. The MLA said that these societies have played a pivotal role in the holistic development of the region especially that of the landless farmers and labour. He said that every effort will be made to secure their interests for which he will personally take up this matter with the Chief Minister Punjab.

The MLA said that Punjab Government led by Captain Amarinder Singh has taken several path breaking initiatives for the development of the state and welfare of its people. He said that it is the result of progressive and growth oriented policies of the state government that Punjab is today the frontrunner state in the country. Rana Gurjit Singh said that every strata of society has been benefited by the pro-people policies of the state government and this will continue in future too.

The MLA also said that Captain Amarinder Singh has always stood with the farmers of the state. He said that whether it was termination of waters Act or waiving off the entire debt of the farmers Chief Minister has taken every step to safeguard interests of the farmers adding that Punjab was the first state in the country to reject the three anti-farmers ordinances brought by the Union government. Rana Gurjit Singh assured the delegation that there interests will also be safeguarded by the Chief Minister.

On the occasion Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries also assured the delegation that every effort will be made to ensure that there a positive action is taken on their demands. He said that the Punjab government is committed for assuring the welfare of every section of society. Mann also said that Congress party has always played an important role in strengthening the cooperative movement across the country.

On the occasion senior Congress leader Harjit Singh Parmar, Satbir Singh Walia, District Coordinator Daljit Singh Raju, Bahadur Singh, Parvinder Singh, Naresh Kumar, Maninder Singh, Balbir Chand, Ram Aasra, Mohinder Singh, Ravinder Singh, Inderjit Singh Khalsa, Gurmail Singh, Sandeep Dhaliwal, Bikramjeet Singh and others were also present.
