Pen down strike by employees cripple administrative work in government offices across Punjab
Chandigarh, June 23, 2021: The routine administrative work in Punjab Civil secretariat and all the government offices across the state has been crippled due to the pen down strike called by the employees of the state government to protest against the faulty pay commission introduced by the Punjab government.
Thousands of employees of the Punjab government shunned the work in their offices and joined the strike as a mark of protest against the anti-employees policies of the Punjab government. The entire work in the secretariat came to stand still as none of the employees were allowed to work on their seats. The strike is likely to continue till Sunday (June 27). The employees are protesting against the pay commission introduced by the state government and are describing it as a retrogressive step aimed at harming the interests of the employees.
