(Rajinder Kumar) Pahalgam, Kashmir, 22 April 2025: At least 26 tourists were killed and several injured in a brutal militant attack in Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in Jammu & Kashmir. The attackers opened fire at Baisaran meadow, targeting civilians. The militant group “Kashmir Resistance” claimed responsibility, opposing non-local settlement in the region.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, condemning the attack, vowed strict action, stating those responsible “will not be spared.” Union Home Minister Amit Shah rushed to Srinagar to oversee security operations. The incident has drawn strong political condemnation, reigniting concerns over safety and militancy in the region.
