SAYS, THOSE MISSED THEIR SECOND DOSE WOULD NOT BE ENTERTAINED AT SEVA KENDRAS AND OTHER DEPARTMENTS

CHECKING DRIVE TO BE STARTED AT MARKETS, MALLS, HOTELS, GYMS TO ENSURE ENTRY OF VACCINATED CITIZENS ONLY

Jalandhar, 30 January 2022 :  Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today said that only fully vaccinated people to be allowed to seek benefit of citizen centric services at Seva Kendras and other government departments as visitors who have taken both the doses of Covid-19 vaccine would be able to enter into the premises of government offices in Jalandhar.

Divulging the details, the deputy commissioner said that as per records a large number of people are still due for their second dose which is a major roadblock to curtail the virus spread. He added that the intermingling of vaccinated, partly vaccinated (single dose) and non-vaccinated people at public places could translate into a serious health situation, thereby, it was need of the hour to allow only fully vaccinated (double dosed) people into government offices and other public places. To implement these orders the vaccination status of the visitors would be thoroughly checked at the reception of Seva Kendras and other departments by the officials concerned, and after the proper verification the entry would be allowed into these premises, he said.

Mr. Thori mentioned that as per guidelines issued by the government, only fully-vaccinated people are allowed to visit public places; thus, a special checking drive would also be launched at shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, cinemas, and market places to ensure strict compliance of these orders. If anyone found visiting these places without proper vaccination, appropriate action would be taken against such violators as it was earlier advised to non-vaccinated or partly-vaccinated people to stay at home until their vaccination was completed.

The DC also said that the district administration was making all out efforts to provide vaccination facilities at doorsteps with massive mobile camps being held across the district. He stated that it was our collective responsibility to eliminate this virus from society which could only be achieved through one hundred percent vaccination. He called upon people to step out of their homes and visit nearby vaccination centers and complete their vaccine dose.
