NEW COVID-19 GUIDELINES, FROM JUNE 25 TO JUNE 30

Chandigarh, 25 June 2021: Punjab government has announced the new guidelines for covid-19 pandemic, starting from June 25th. The restrictions are extended till June 30th. The relaxation is given IELTS Coaching Institutes who can now open provided their teachers, staff and students have had atleast one vaccination.

The guidelines are as followed:

1. Daily night curfew from 8pm to 5am and Sunday curfew (from 8pm on Saturday upto 5am on Monday) to be imposed throughout the state; but all essential activities including those covered under ‘Exemptions’ to continue to remain unaffected, unhindered and exempted from curfew restrictions.
2. All restaurants (including in-hotels), cafés, coffee shops, fast food outlets, dhabhas etc., cinemas, gyms, museums to be opened at maximum 50% of capacity, subject to all their employees having received atleast one dose of vaccination.
3. Bars, Pubs and ‘Ahatas’ to remain closed.
4. All educational institutions i.e. schools and colleges to remain closed.
5. No gathering of people more than 50 to be allowed, including weddings/cremations.
6. Non-AC buses may operate to capacity but no standing allowed, AC buses to operate at maximum 50% of capacity.

There are exemptions too:

1. Hospitals, veterinary hospitals and all establishments, both in public and private sector, related to manufacture and supply of all medicines and medical equipment. Including the manufacturing and distribution units such as dispensaries, chemist and pharmacy (including Jain Aushadhi Kendras).
2. Laboratories, pharmaceutical research labs, clinics, nursing homes, ambulances etc. Transportation of all personnel of these establishments shall be allowed subject however to production of identity cards.
3. Shops dealing with supply of essential goods, milk, dairy and poultry products like bread, eggs, meat etc. and vegetables, fruits etc.
4. Shops/establishments selling industrial materials including raw materials, intermediaries as well as shops/establishments engaged in export and import activities.
5. Activities/establishments related to fisheries such as fish, meat and its products including supply of fish seeds.
6. To and fro movement of passengers traveling by air, trains and buses on production of travel documents. Inter and intra state movement of all vehicles/persons carrying essentials and non-essential goods.
7. Delivery of all essential goods including food, pharmaceuticals, medical equipments etc. through e-commerce.
8. Construction activities in both urban and rural areas.
9. Agricultural including procurement, horticulture, animal husbandry and veterinary services.
10. Vaccinations out-reach camps.
11. Activities of manufacturing industry, commercial and private establishments and services given below including movement of all their employees/workers and vehicles carrying them upon production of requisite permission from their employees:

(a) Telecommunication, internet services, broadcasting and cable services. IT and IT enabled services.

(b) Delivery of all essential goods including food, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment etc. through e-commerce.

(c)  Petrol pumps and petroleum products, LPG, petroleum and gas retail and storage outlets, coal, fire wood and other fuels.

(d) Power generation, transmission and distribution units and services.

(e)  Cold storage and warehousing services.

(f)  Private security services.

(g)  Farming operations by farmers and farm workers in the field.

(h)  All Banking/RBI services, ATMs, cash vans and cash handeling/distribution services.

District authorities may determine opening timings of non-essential shops, including on Sunday, on the bases of the local situation, while ensuring that crowding leading to the spread of covid are avoided.

District authorities will also ensure strict implementation of all the extant directives of MHA/State Government on covid appropriate behavior, including social/physical distancing, wearing of face masks etc.
