Nestle, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola chose Punjab — Trust in Mann government’s policies grows

(Rajinder Kumar) Chandigarh, 18 October 2025: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab has entered an era of industrial renaissance today. The state that once faced the challenge of agricultural crisis and unemployment has now become the most trusted destination for global investors. Mann government’s transparent policies, ease of doing business reforms, and quick decision-making system have made Punjab India’s most attractive investment destination. This is not just a claim, but statistics confirm it — since 2022, the state has received investment proposals worth more than ₹1.23 lakh crore, with major contribution from the food processing sector.
At the center of this industrial boom are global giants — Nestle India, PepsiCo India, and Coca-Cola India, who have invested crores showing trust in Punjab’s policies. The investment by these three companies has not only given a new identity to Punjab’s industrial image but has also brought transformation in the lives of thousands of youth and farmers. This is the same Punjab that once depended only on agriculture, but has now become a hub of high-tech and modern industries.
Nestle India has taken a historic step towards transforming Moga district of Punjab into a world-class food processing center. In 2024, the company announced expansion of its major plant with an investment of ₹583 crore, which will increase milk processing and food production capacity many times. This project was quickly approved through Invest Punjab and the government provided capital incentives, electricity concessions, and infrastructure support. This plant will be equipped with state-of-the-art automation technology and will create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in the state. The special thing is that 90% of this plant’s milk is taken from Punjab’s local farmers and cooperative societies — which has stabilized rural income and strengthened Punjab’s role in the milk value chain.
This investment by Nestle is not just an industrial project but a model of rural development. This has given dairy farmers access to modern technologies, quality improvement training, and better market rates. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has called it a “partnership model of farmers and industry.” Nestle is now preparing to make a new range of its Maggi, Nescafé, and dairy products in Punjab, which will help Punjab gain an even more prominent place on India’s food processing map.
Meanwhile, Coca-Cola India has established a state-of-the-art beverage manufacturing plant in Ludhiana at a cost of ₹275 crore, which will not only increase production capacity but will also set a new standard for environmental protection. This plant is based on the concept of “Green Growth,” where technologies like water recycling, solar energy, and waste recycling are being adopted. The Punjab government approved this project in record time and took steps like electricity rate discounts, land allocation, and tax incentives. This has generated dozens of direct jobs and hundreds of indirect employments, while Ludhiana’s industrial ecosystem has become even stronger.
PepsiCo India has also invested ₹30 crore for expansion of its food processing plant in Sangrur district. This plant works in the field of potato processing and snack manufacturing, and receives raw materials from thousands of Punjab farmers through contract-based farming. PepsiCo has started several programs to teach sustainable agriculture techniques to local farmers, which has increased production capacity and improved water conservation. For this project, the government gave special incentives for environment-friendly packaging and energy efficiency. As a result, Sangrur has not only prospered industrially but is also presenting a balanced model of agriculture and industry.
The biggest feature of the Bhagwant Mann government is that it has linked development with environmental balance. According to the state’s new industrial policy, Zero Liquid Discharge, Rainwater Harvesting, and Waste Recycling have been made mandatory in all new projects. This has ensured that environmental responsibility is fulfilled along with industrial growth. This is why Punjab is now being known as a Green Industrial State — where development, environment, and employment are all moving together.
Today, with investments from giants like Nestle, PepsiCo, and Coca-Cola, more than ₹1,000 crore of capital investment has happened in Punjab and thousands of youth have got new opportunities. According to government figures, since 2022, investment proposals worth ₹70,000 crore have generated more than 4.5 lakh jobs in the state. Foreign investment has also seen a huge increase — in 2025 alone, FDI worth ₹8,000 crore has come. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently said, “We want to make Punjab not just an investment destination but a land of opportunities, where every investment brings benefits to every section of society.”
This story of Punjab is not just about economic reform but a story of new thinking. Nestle’s dairy revolution, Coca-Cola’s green initiative, and PepsiCo’s sustainable farming model are proof that under Mann government’s leadership, Punjab is shining on the world investment map today. This model based on transparency, stability, and partnership has become an example for other states of India. Punjab is no longer just an ‘agricultural state’ — it is an emerging ‘industrial powerhouse,’ where every factory is a symbol of new hope and every Punjabi is a symbol of new confidence.
