In a historic moment on Saturday, the Ludhiana district administered Covid vaccine doses to one million (10 lakh) residents, a feat achieved in five months. With this, Ludhiana becomes first district of Punjab to have achieved this distinction.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the administration now further has scaled up the vaccination drive as we are looking at vaccinating the next one million beneficiaries in next two months. He said that still, the administration has a stock of 55000 Covid vaccines and every eligible must turn up to get the jab to ensure the maximum number of vulnerable beneficiaries are covered as fast as possible.

Sharma emphasized that the people must not doubt the efficacy of any vaccine as both Covishield and Covaxin are most effective and safe and would help to save precious lives.
