MASTERSTROKE BY CM LIKELY TO PAVE WAY FOR VICTORY OF AAP IN JALANDHAR WEST
– THANKS TO CM, AFTER THREE DECADES JALANDHAR AGAIN EMERGES AS POWER HUB
Jalandhar, 4 July 2024 : Nearly after three decades life has come full circle for Jalandhar residents with the city emerging as power hub of the state, thanks to the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who has taken a historic decision of shifting his residence in the city to facilitate people.
It was in early 1990s when Jalandhar had housed the then Chief Minister Beant Singh, who was elected from Jalandhar Cantt assembly segment. Though Beant Singh hailed from Ludhiana district, he chose to contest from Jalandhar Cantt to ensure better connect with people of Doaba and Majha during the turbulent times of terrorism. But thereafter Doaba never became the centre of Power as the Chief Minister continued to be from Malwa region where majority of seats for state assembly comes from.
But in a paradigm shift to his predecessors, the Chief Minister, who has a penchant to connect directly with the people, has decided to shift his residence in Jalandhar. This tactical move aims at redressing the issues of people directly and thereby ensuring that people do not have to rush to Chandigarh for getting their menial works done. This historic initiative of the Chief Minister has brought Jalandhar at the centre stage of politics not only in the state but also at the national level.
This move is likely to benefit the people of the city by giving more impetus to its development besides further consolidating the mass base of the AAP in the Doaba and Majha region. The result of this will be evident in the ensuing by-poll for the Jalandhar West assembly segment too as buoyed by this initiative, people of the segment will give verdict in favor of the AAP candidate. This farsighted and progressive move of the Chief Minister is already giving sleepless nights to his political rivals and the result of by-election will further help in emerging as the tallest leader of Punjab.
