Jalandhar,  1  April   2022  :  Markets are all decked up for welcoming the festival of Navratras starting from April 2 as devotees have rushed to markets for shopping.

The festival in which fasts are observed by devotees for nine days in devotion of Lordess Durga has immense significance amongst people due to which markets are abuzz with people who are busy buying things for the festival. Devotees are thronging the markets for the necessary shopping to welcome the festival. The shopkeepers have also made necessary arrangements to ensure that people enjoy this festival with full religion fervour and enthusiasm.

Giving details, Sachin Sharma the owner of Sewak Dhoop industry at local Milap Chowk, said that as per Hindu tradition Navratras are observed twice in an year. He said that in starting of winter season the Navratras culminate with the festival of Dussehra and in the advent of summer season this traditional festival ends with Ram Naumi. He said that devotees observe this festival with full enthusiasm due to which these days are very auspicious.

On the occasion Shweta Sharma said that there is a huge demand of the things required for pooja during these days. She said that right from metal idols of Lordess Durga the idols made of clay and other materials are in huge demand these days. She said that they have already made adequate arrangements to cater to need of devotees.
