In a first 10,000 students to get free online subscription for cracking competitive exams

Kapurthala, 13  May  2022  :   In a bid to enable the government school students to compete with their convent educated peers, the Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mr Vishesh Sarangal today launched a unique scheme to provide the free subscription for quality online study material to 10,000 students of Government schools in collaboration with the BYJU, Intelligent Indian etc.

Pertinently, with this initiative Kapurthala has became the first district in the state to empower students of government schools with this facility.

Launching this project by distributing free E-learning subscription letters to students from Government schools Ghanta Ghar and Randhir schools today here at his office, the Deputy Commissioner envisioned that this will not only enable the students to compete with their convent educated peers but will also open new vistas for them by ensuring their bright future. He said that it is basically a capacity building Program which would be very useful for the students in coming vacations. Mr Sarangal said students will not only read their school syllabus but will also bridge the gap in learning through this.

The Deputy Commissioner said that subscription will be valid for three years and will be provided free of cost so that students can clear their concepts of previous classes which they might have missed . Describing it as a leap forward towards enabling the students of government schools in 8 to 12 standards to have a free access of online quality material, he said that it will be very helpful for them in competitive exams like JEE, IIT and others. Mr Sarangal said that the District Administration has recently joined hands with The Intelligent Indian NGO for their Bridge-Ed initiative and BYJU for this noble cause.

The Deputy Commissioner said that subscription will provide free high quality educational content, mapped with the Punjab board in English, Hindi, and Punjabi languages to the government schools students . Besides he said that Student aiming to enter IITs and medical institutions will be equipped with e-learning resources for IIT-JEE/NEET exams. Mr Sarangal asked the education department officials to ensure the eligible students must attain benefit from that as presently over 500 students have received the licenses, where another 10,000students are in pipeline.

The Deputy Commissioner said that summer vacations are the most suitable time for students to harness their potential and crack the prestigious exams in coming future by using this technology. He said that the entire district will be covered under this program in the coming three months . In the second phase of the program, the government schools will receive training to introduce a happiness curriculum, menstrual curriculum, sustainable development goals, and education on climate change etc .

Students who got the subscription letters while sharing their future plans , said that it would be a great assistant to shape their career . Deepanshu and Jatin Dhawan who wants to be the IT professionals thanks the district administration. While sharing their earlier experience as in lockdown they got the paid subscription, they said that now they have additional aid for learning in all streams like commerce , arts , science, medical etc.

It may also be mentioned here that to ensure the subscription to all eligible students especially the 11 and 12th class students , deputy commissioner has asked the education officials to compile and submit the data of students like their class , mobile no etc so that all students have the access of online classes ans coaching also in vacations.

Addressing the Girl students who sets their goals to be the police officers, sports coaches etc , deputy commissioner asks them to work on daily basis and evaluate themselves to achieve their goals in future .

Meanwhile DEO secondary Mr Rampal singh has assured that the remaining students would get free subscription in a week so that they would be able for self based learning in vacations.
