Joginder Mann thanks CM for gifting Trauma centre like facilities to Phagwara civil hospital
– Says it is a dream come true for him as people will be immensely benefitted from it
Phagwara, 28 June 2022 : Welcoming the decision of Punjab Chief Minister Mr Bhagwant Mann to equip Phagwara Civil hospital with Trauma Centre like facilities, former Punjab Minister S. Joginder Singh Mann today said that it was a much awaited gift for the people of Phagwara by CM.
S. Mann, who had flagged this issue with the Chief Minister, said that it is the need of hour to save precious lives of people. S. Mann said that upgrading the local Civil Hospital to Trauma centre was a one of his major poll plank as he knew it well that people direly needs this facility. An emotive, S. Mann said that it is a dream come true for him, as the Chief Minister has announced this facility in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha merely within 100 days of the formation of government.
S. Mann said that he had contested his first election from Phagwara in year 1985 adding that at that time this hospital was only 30 bedded. However, he said that on his personal request the then Governor of Punjab Mr. SS Ray had laid the foundation stone of upgrading this hospital to 100 bedded which was a major relief for Phagwara and surrounding areas. Former Minister said that he had been vehemently trying for upgradation of the existing civil hospital and now he has been successful in that.
He said that as vehicular movement has enhanced manifolds in the city and a number of accidents are taking place so the trauma centre was need of the hour. He also said that apart from this trauma centre the Bhagwant Mann led government will soon dedicate mother and child care centre, which is almost ready, to the Phagwara residents.
