Jalandhar leads in E-Girdawri by making 56.26 percent records online : DC Ghanshyam Thori
Says, 761550 of 1353542 Khasra numbers successfully made online, remaining records to be entered soon
Jalandhar, 05 September 2021 : Setting another milestone, Jalandhar has emerged as a leading district in E-Girdawri of crops of last year’s Kharif season by making 56.26 percent of Khasra-Girdawri online, which is highest in the state.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that a mammoth exercise was initiated for E-Girdawri under which entire Khasra-Girdawri records have to be made online in the district. He added that so far entries of 761550 Khasra numbers out of a total 1353542 have been made online.
The DC said that while taking a step further in the direction of digitisation, the state government had ordered e-girdawari of crops for the kharif season of 2020. He added that girdawari is a document, in which the patwari enters the name of owner, name of cultivator, land/khasra number, area, kind of land, cultivated and non cultivated area, source of irrigation, name of crop and its conditions, revenue and rate of revenue etc, minimum twice in a year.
“ A large number of people have been tasked with the responsibility of making girdawri online and 56.26 percent of record has been updated to the date while remaining record will be made online within given time-frame,” said Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori, who is personally monitoring this exercise regularly.
Thori mentioned that the district administration was working round the clock to ensure completion of this task within due timeline so that farm community is benefitted with digitization of revenue records. He asked officials that any kind of laxity in this task is highly unwarranted and would be dealt with heavy hands.
Notably, rhe girdawari is a process under which patwaris prepared records of crops based on Shijra Lathaa (a map drawn on a piece of cloth) after visiting the fields.
