Poser to PMO"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 class=\"articleDiscrition\">The BCCI logo on the Indian cricket team jersey resembles the \u2018Star of India\u2019 \u2013 an honour given by the British to their preferred princes during the colonial times, says the poser<\/h4>\n<p><strong>New Delhi:<\/strong> A poser by the Central Information Commission (CIC) to the Prime Minister&#8217;s Office (PMO) and the ministries of sports and law is asking why the Indian cricket team is still using a colonial era logo.The BCCI logo on the Indian cricket team jersey resembles the \u2018Star of India\u2019 \u2013 an honour given by the British to their preferred princes during the colonial times, says the poser.The Commission also said that the symbol of the BCCI is similar to the representation of the star of the order on the mantle of British Raj.&#8221;After the First War of Indian Independence in 1857, to consolidate its sovereignty over India, the British Crown created a new order of knighthood to honour loyal Indian princes. No such honours were given after 1948.
