Mumbai, July 16, 2021:\u00a0<\/strong>Veteran actor Surekha Sikri has passed away at the age of 75 of a cardiac arrest. The actress was known for films such as Badhaai Ho and by her famous TV show character in Balika Vadhu as Dadi Sa.<\/p>\n

The actor was ailing for some time and had suffered a brain stroke in 2020 and a paralytic stroke earlier in 2018.<\/p>\n

The veteran actor’s career spanned theatre, films and television. She made her debut with 1978 political drama film\u00a0Kissa Kursi Ka\u00a0<\/em>and played author-backed roles across films in various industries. She received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress thrice, including Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995) and Badhaai Ho (2018).<\/p>\n
