\u2014 Assistant Professor Dr Rubal Kanozia shares tips on monitoring Social Media, pinning down fake news<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chandigarh, 07\u00a0 January 2022 : <\/strong>With Social Media emerging as a new challenge, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Punjab Dr S Karuna Raju on Friday organised a workshop for all the District Public Relation Officers (DPROs) on \u2018Social Media Monitoring\u2019 to help them in countering fake news and identification of paid news during upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections 2022.<\/p>\n

Dr Rubal Kanozia, Assistant Professor from Central University, Bathinda, who is researcher in Misinformation and Fake News and also a Social Media Analyst was the main speaker of the workshop.<\/p>\n

CEO Dr Raju, while commencing the meeting reviewed the ongoing SVEEP activities with the DPROs in their respective districts. He also asked DPROs to sensitise maximum people about their voting right not only using conventional media like Indoor and Outdoor Advertisements and Press Notes, but also exhorts them to make optimum use of Social Media platforms.<\/p>\n

Dr Rubal Kanozia later briefed DPROs about various social media tips and tools, which will help DPROs in keeping check on fake news, viral news and paid news going viral on different social media platforms during the Assembly Elections.<\/p>\n

Notably, DPROs play a vital role in Media Certification and Monitoring Committees (MCMC) constituted during elections to keep check on news in newspapers, electronic media and social media.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
