Jalandhar, 02 November 2021 :\u00a0 <\/strong>Setting a new benchmark, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Tuesday celebrated Diwali with specially-abled students of government schools and bought all the creative items prepared by them during an exhibition held at local Abadpura Resource Centre.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Commissioner got amazed while looking the decorative and beautiful items including earthen pots, candles,\u00a0 toys and others prepared by specially-abled students and purchased the entire stock by paying Rs. 25000 to these students as a motivation to them.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

He said that it was a momentous occasion for him to celebrate the festival of light with them. He also said that he was very fortunate to have got this opportunity for celebrating this festival here.<\/p>\n

Thori said that the sparkling lights of Diwali not only illuminate every household but it was also a symbol of the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and hope over despair.<\/p>\n

The DC said that hoped that this Diwali would once again bring peace, prosperity and happiness to the people besides strengthening the bonds of communal harmony, peace and brotherhood amongst them\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Commissioner appealed the people to celebrate this festival with traditional fervor and gaiety rising above the parochial considerations of caste, color, creed and religion thereby cementing the bonds of harmony, amity and goodwill.<\/p>\n
