{"id":33987,"date":"2021-10-27T17:02:40","date_gmt":"2021-10-27T17:02:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timespunjab.com\/?p=33987"},"modified":"2021-10-27T17:02:40","modified_gmt":"2021-10-27T17:02:40","slug":"rs-8-10-crore-outstanding-electricity-bills-of-7219-domestic-consumers-with-up-to-2kw-load-usage-waived-off-in-jalandhar-circle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timespunjab.com\/?p=33987","title":{"rendered":"Rs 8.10 Crore Outstanding Electricity Bills Of 7219 Domestic Consumers With up To 2kW Load Usage waived off in Jalandhar Circle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Jalandhar, 27 October 2021 :\u00a0 <\/strong>Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Ghanshyam Thori on Wednesday said that Rs 8.10 crore arrears of electricity bills of 7219 domestic consumers with up to 2kW load usage in the district have been waived off by the Punjab government so far.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u00a0He said that in East Division falling under Jalandhar Circle, arrears of electricity bills of Rs. 86.79 lakh of 869 domestic consumers, in Model Town division arrears of electricity bills of Rs. 441.38 lakh of 4219 connections, in West Division arrears of electricity bills of Rs 132.66 lakh have been waived of 1005 domestic consumers and Rs 149.44 lakh of 1126 domestic consumers have been waived in cantonment division.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u00a0He said that the concerned officials have been directed to provide the benefits of this scheme to the needy consumers of all sections in a transparent manner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">DC informed that beneficiaries of electricity bills upto 2 KW load can visit Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL)\u2018s Suvidha Centres from 9 am to 5pm to apply for the waiving off their arrears.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u00a0He further informed that over 1 lakh people will be given the benefit of this scheme in the district.\u00a0 People can visit their nearby PSPCL\u2019s Suvidha Centres under Jalandhar circle including at West division,\u00a0 Model town division, East division office at Focal Point, Pathankot bypass and Cantonment division to avail benefit of this scheme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">DC Mr. Thori said that district administration is holding a special camps on October 28 and 29 at the Sub-Divisional level and District headquarter to facilitate the people and provide them hassle-free services under the scheme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">DC appealed to the beneficiaries to contact the PSPCL\u2019s Suvidha Centres for any queries or to attain further information about the scheme. Mr. Thori categorically directed the concerned officials to ensure that eligible beneficiaries will not face any kind of harassment during the
