(Rajinder Kumar) SANGRUR, 11th May 2026: <\/strong>Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday joined the Sangat at Gurdwara Jyotisar Sahib to offer Ardas and express gratitude for getting the opportunity to enact the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act 2026, asserting that the stringent law has brought immense relief and satisfaction to the Panth and will ensure that no one dares to commit beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji again.<\/p>\n

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann also launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Centre, saying the country is witnessing how decisions are being dictated by the White House while central agencies are being misused to intimidate political opponents. Declaring that Punjabis have never bowed before pressure tactics, he asserted that the people of Punjab would give a befitting reply to every attempt to suppress democratic voices.<\/p>\n

Sharing a few snippets on X, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated: \u201cToday, I had the privilege of bowing in reverence during the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at the historic Gurdwara Sri Jyotisar Sahib (Sixth Patshahi). At this sacred place of Miri-Piri\u2019s master, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, I expressed gratitude to Guru Sahib for blessing me with the opportunity to serve by enacting a strict law against beadbi. I also offered Ardas for Punjab\u2019s Chardi Kala, for the well-being of all, and for rebuilding the state into a vibrant \u2018Rangla Punjab\u2019 once again. May Guru Sahib continue to shower his blessings upon everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Addressing the media after joining the Sangat, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the entire Sangat across Punjab is expressing happiness over the passing of the historic legislation, which seeks to check incidents of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. \u201cBhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was organised at the historic Gurdwara Sahib and he had come to join the Sangat in the Ardas,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister said that people from every corner of Punjab are organising thanksgiving paths after the enactment of the law as the legislation has deeply resonated with the sentiments of the people. He added that he is receiving numerous invitations daily to attend such religious gatherings. \u201cThe Almighty has bestowed upon me the service to serve humanity by enacting the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act 2026, which provides harsher punishment for beadbi. This law passed by the Punjab Government will ensure that no one ever dares to indulge in this unpardonable offence of desecration,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n

Reiterating the commitment of the AAP Government towards preserving the sanctity and respect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said strict action will be ensured against anyone involved in sacrilegious acts. He affirmed that his Government remains deeply committed to Sikh values and public sentiments and that the law will act as a strong deterrent against such incidents in the future.<\/p>\n

Responding to a question regarding recent appeals made by the Prime Minister to the people, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the \u201cmaster of jumlas\u201d should speak the truth before the nation. \u201cItt has become evident that the strings of the country are today being controlled by the White House, with major decisions being taken only after its consent,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that even during issues like the India-Pakistan conflict, the outcome was pronounced by US authorities, raising serious concerns regarding the sovereignty of the country. \u201cThose who claim to make India a Vishav Guru are actually heading towards becoming Vishav Chela as directions from the White House are being blindly followed,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Targeting the Centre\u2019s economic policies, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that despite tall claims regarding Make in India, policies like allowing FDI even in the defence sector have weakened the country\u2019s interests. He cautioned that the proposed India-US trade agreement could inflict serious damage on Indian agriculture and adversely impact farmers.<\/p>\n

On the ED raids in Punjab, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the central agency is being blatantly misused by the Union Government to arm-twist political opponents. He stated that the ED has been reduced to a tool for threatening leaders of rival parties and suppressing democracy. \u201cPunjabis have never bowed before such pressure tactics.
