(Rajinder Kumar) Chandigarh, 02 October 2025:<\/strong> The Punjab government has taken a historic step by launching the \u201cMera Ghar, Mera Maan\u201d (My Home, My Honour) scheme from the Tarn Taran district. On this occasion, Cabinet Ministers Hardeep Singh Mundian and Laljit Singh Bhullar distributed property cards to beneficiaries, granting them ownership rights over land falling within the ‘Lal Lakir’ (Red Line). Residents of 11 villages in the Tarn Taran constituency were the first to benefit from this initiative. Senior district administration officials and a large number of villagers were present at the event.<\/p>\n

Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian called the occasion historic and said that the people residing within the villages\u2019 \u201cLal Lakir\u201d had been living in a state of insecurity regarding their land for generations. He stated that this confusion has now been resolved, and the people have received full legal ownership rights over their property.<\/p>\n

He informed that the state government is implementing this scheme by adopting a mission mode and will roll it out across all of Punjab by December 2026. Under this, every family will receive property cards as legal documents, which will be digital and government records.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet Minister said that this card will now serve as a guarantee document for obtaining loans from banks. There will be no fear or doubt in the sale and purchase of land and houses, bringing transparency to rural society. The clear evidence of ownership will end long-standing, generational disputes, and children will inherit clear, unencumbered property.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he said that \u201cMera Ghar, Mera Maan\u201d is not merely a scheme but a pledge from Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann\u2019s government to the people. This initiative is part of the government\u2019s solid strategy to make every Punjabi capable and self-reliant. The property card is not ordinary paper but a symbol of the citizens’ self-respect, just as the Aadhaar card has become a symbol of identity.<\/p>\n

Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said in his address that the Aam Aadmi Party government is fulfilling the promises made to the public before the elections, and several development schemes have been launched to make Punjab a leading state. The \u201cMera Ghar, Mera Maan\u201d scheme will provide relief and rights to millions of people.<\/p>\n

Shri Harmeet Singh Sandhu, in-charge of the Tarn Taran constituency, also congratulated the beneficiaries on this occasion and said that this scheme is a new chapter in social justice and rural upliftment. He stated that the government\u2019s effort will further accelerate Punjab’s development.<\/p>\n

This scheme will not only grant ownership rights to villagers but will also strengthen Punjab’s rural infrastructure. The government believes that the state’s development will gain a new direction only when the public is self-reliant and secure.
