(Rajinder Kumar) Chandigarh, September 2025: <\/strong>Responding positively to the clarion call of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Union Bank of India has contributed \u20b92 crore towards the Chardikala Mission \u2014 an initiative aimed at supporting the welfare of flood victims in Punjab.<\/p>\n

Expressing heartfelt gratitude to the bank\u2019s management for this noble gesture, the Chief Minister said that over 1,000 philanthropists have already come forward to support the Chardikala Mission. He added that the Union Bank of India has now joined this growing list of contributors by handing over a cheque of \u20b92 crore, reinforcing efforts to rebuild the state devastated by recent floods. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Mission Chardikala, a global fundraising campaign, has been launched to raise funds for the state government\u2019s rehabilitation initiatives for the 2025 Punjab flood victims.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister noted that the state recently witnessed a natural catastrophe of such magnitude that it will remain etched in public memory for generations. \u201cThe floods didn\u2019t just bring water \u2014 they swept away millions of dreams,\u201d said Bhagwant Singh Mann, calling it one of the most horrifying tragedies in Punjab\u2019s recent history. He emphasized that this is also Punjab\u2019s greatest test, but history has shown that the state always emerges stronger from every crisis.<\/p>\n

Reiterating the spirit behind the initiative, the Chief Minister said, \u201cJust as Chardikala signifies the eternal Sikh spirit of strength and optimism in the face of adversity, Mission Chardikala is a call to action for all Punjabis around the world to unite as one family during this time of unprecedented hardship.\u201d He expressed hope that more Punjabis across the globe will continue to contribute generously toward rebuilding the Punjab of their dreams. Assuring transparency and accountability, Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed that every penny collected will be spent judiciously for the welfare and rehabilitation of flood victims.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
