(Rajinder Kumar) Chandigarh, 23 August 2025: <\/strong>To deal with the situation caused by floods in Punjab, the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is working in full action mode. While in many states, governments remain stuck in meetings during crises, the Mann Government immediately took action after understanding the ground reality. Not only were \u20b92 crore released as relief funds, but by deploying 8 cabinet ministers in the field, the government proved that it is not limited to announcements but is truly sharing the pain of the people on the ground. Meanwhile, the Mann Government has also ordered a special Girdawari (crop damage assessment).<\/p>\n

In the past three years, an infrastructure worth \u20b9276 crore was developed for flood prevention, and today its impact is clearly visible. These plans are not just on paper anymore but are proving successful in providing protection to the people during times of crisis. This shows that the Mann Government did not limit disaster response to relief alone, but also prioritized prevention and preparedness.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

In Tarn Taran and Ferozepur, Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal and Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar themselves inspected the Dhussi embankment along the Sutlej river. They went village to village, listened to the people\u2019s problems, provided immediate relief, and assured them that the government stands firmly with them. Similarly, Hardeep Singh Mundian reached Sultanpur Lodhi, and Dr. Balbir Singh held a meeting with the administration in Kapurthala to review the relief works.<\/p>\n

The approach of the Mann Government is not only administrative but also humanitarian. When heavy rains led to flood conditions, the government was standing with the people. This is not a government that distributes relief only in front of cameras, but one that works on the ground, away from cameras. That is what makes it different from other governments. Unlike the opposition that is only busy with statements, the Mann Government has shown that public service is done through work, not slogans.<\/p>\n

Today, the people of Punjab themselves are saying that a government is truly one that stands in the frontlines during crises. What the Mann Government has done for the flood-affected is not just relief, but also the building of new trust. This is an example of humane leadership, not political opportunism. At a time when many governments are distancing themselves from the people, the Mann Government has once again strengthened its place in the hearts of the public.
