Ludhiana, 10 January 2025:<\/strong> MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora said that Air India has confirmed him that flight operations from Halwara Airport will begin in the future.<\/p>\n

In a statement here today, he added Air India\u2019s Group Head – GRC & Corporate Affairs P Balaji vide his letter dated January 8th, 2025 has informed him that Air India will commence flight operations to Halwara airport once they are officially given go ahead by AAI and receive all necessary regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n

Balaji has further informed Arora that \u201cthis new development marks an exciting milestone in our efforts to expand connectivity to Punjab, benefiting both business and tourism sector\u201d. In his communication to Arora, Balaji has written that \u201cWe deeply appreciate your ongoing support and commitment to the advancement of India’s aviation infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arora on December 6 last had written & requested for early confirmation on flight operations from Halwara to Balaji that in reference to his discussions with Natarajan Chandrasekaran (Chairman, Tata Sons & Air India), followed by a high-level meeting on 14th August, 2024 in Gurgaon, attended by Kartikey Bhatt, Moin, Piyush Kharbanda, Shashi Chetia.<\/p>\n

Air India team visited Ludhiana on 29th August, 2024 to interact with representatives of industries and various local groups to study the feasibility of flight operations. The team included Manish Puri (Head of Sales-India), Kartikey Bhatt (AVP Network Planning), and Gaurav Khanna ended and saw lot of potential in Delhi Halwara route especially for international and industry related passengers. This flight will serve the whole of Malwa region in Punjab.<\/p>\n

Arora had been in touch with Kartikeya, who has been positive about starting flights from Halwara Airport, now slated to begin soon. Communication from Air India will enable us to expedite the requisite permissions from allied agencies according to Arora. He had further written that the people of Ludhiana are eagerly awaiting the commencement of civil flight operations from the city, and Air India\u2019s confirmation will bring much-needed assurance.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Arora has highly thanked Air India for acceding to his demand. He has also thanked Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal stating that the deputy commissioner has been regularly following up the going on works at Halwara. Arora said that he is taking up this matter under guidance of his party leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
