Patiala,\u00a0 30\u00a0 December\u00a0 \u00a02022\u00a0 :\u00a0 <\/strong>Punjab Finance, Planning and Taxation and Excise Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, as the minister in charge of Patiala district, on Friday while reviewing the various ongoing development works in the district, directed the officials to resolve the grievances of the people on priority besides completing all the ongoing projects in a time bound manner.<\/p>\n

While presiding over the review meeting of the development works at the District Administrative Complex here, Mr Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has been fulfilling every promise made to the people of the state. The AAP government in Punjab has also fulfilled its promise of providing 300 units of free electricity per month and as such 4.17 lakh, domestic consumers of district Patiala getting the relief of Rs. 196.20 crores, have received zero electricity bills, Cheema added.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Health Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra, MLAs Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Dr Balbir Singh, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, Neena Mittal, Gurdev Singh Dev Mann, Gurlal Ghanoor and Kulwant Singh Bajigar and District Planning Committee Chairman Jassi Sohianwala were also present, who raised various issues, on which the Finance Minister asked the officials to take the required action.<\/p>\n

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney led the district administration and ADC (Urban Development) Gautam Jain presented the progress report of 17 different projects while ADC (G\/Rural Development) Gurpreet Singh Thind presented the progress report of 22 projects.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, SSP Varun Sharma apprised the minister about the law and order situation in the district, the challans of the trials and the relief camps organised in the district while the District Attorney (Prosecution) Davinder Goyal gave information about the ongoing cases in various courts.<\/p>\n

On this, Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that by requesting the courts for speedy trials in the 2 years old NDPS and heinous criminal cases the accused must be prosecuted and given punishment under the law.<\/p>\n

The Finance Minister took serious notice of the poor performance of the Public Works Department in the work of widening the Mata Gujri Marg Sirhind Road and directed the NOC must be taken in 24 hours from the Forest Department in this regard.<\/p>\n

He gave directions and asked to ensure that the other departments should also get the necessary approvals and NOCs within a week. He also ordered that the entire report of the Punjab Health System Corporation’s progress be conveyed to him through the Deputy Commissioner. Finance Minister also asked the officials to send budget proposals for district projects.<\/p>\n

The finance minister also reviewed the development of Chotti and Vaddi Nadi , new bus stand, 24 hours canal water, STPs, dairy project, Rajindra Lake, Medical College and Rajindra Hospital, Heritage Street, CCTV cameras, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Sports University, educational and technical education institutions including the projects of various roads, forestry, horticulture and other departments. He directed that it should be ensured that benefits of government schemes should reach the beneficiaries at the ground level.<\/p>\n

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney assured the Finance Minister that strict compliance with the instructions given by him will be ensured. Chairman Improvement Trust Megh Chand Shermajra, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Aditya Uppal, Forest Division Officer Vidya Sagari, SPs Wajir Singh Khaira and Harbant Kaur along with district officials of other departments were also present in the meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
