(Rajinder Kumar) NewDelhi, 14 May 2025: Amid rising diplomatic tensions, Indians are calling for a travel boycott to Turkey after Ankara overt support for Pakistan in its conflict with India. This backlash is not restricted to social media, leading several Indian travel and hospitality companies to halt their Turkey-related services.

In a post on X (formerly twitter), Indian Foreign Service Officer Anupam Sharma appealed to citizens to give up purchasing figs (anjeer), dried apricots (khubani), and hazelnut chocolates, highlighting Turkey’s global dominance in these agricultural exports.
