Farmer commits suicide during protest
Ludhiana, 27 September 2021 : Farmer Dara Singh (68) of Rohla Village committed suicide at Ghulal Toll Plaza on Ludhiana-Chandigarh highway in Samrala by hanging himself with turban cloth around 2 am. He was sitting at this protest site since agitation started against farm laws.
His wife Parkash Kaur was at Tikri Border protest site at the time of incident.
Administration swung into action and completed all formalities in consultation with family and local BKU farm union leaders.
A cheque of Rs 5 lakh has also been issued by administration on deceased wife name and would be handed over on tomorrow morning after cremation.
