Deputy Commissioner reviews process of strengthening of Ghaggar banks
Moonak/Sangrur, July 22 2021 : Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir paid a surprise visit to Moonak and other areas of the district situated near Ghaggar river today and inspected the work being done to strengthen the banks of the river. During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Punjab government was fully committed to protect the lives and property of the people and at present the water situation in Ghaggar was under control. He said that sufficient funds were available with the district administration and all the arrangements were in place to deal with any situation in a smooth manner. On this occasion, he also assured the residents of the area on behalf of the government that adequate arrangements have been made by the district administration to deal with any situation and there was no such crisis at present.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to the residents of the area to be aware of any kind of rumors and they could contact the administration at any time regarding this matter. He said that the repair process by the workers was in full swing and the process of proper repair of the critical areas was being monitored continuously.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, while reviewing the arrangements, also directed SDM Moonak Akash Bansal and other officers to keep in touch with the villagers and keep a close watch on the river banks.
