DEPUTY COMMISSIONER ALONG WITH AIR FORCE OFFICIALS PRESIDES OVER THE AEMC COMMITTEE MEETING
Adampur (Jalandhar), June 29 2021 – In the wake of the recent drone attack at Jammu Airforce Station, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Tuesday directed the Panchayats surrounding Adampur Air Force Station to keep a close watch over the outsiders that seek to enter their villages.
He also asked Police official to launch a special verification drive of tenants and PGs in nearby villages to ensure the foolproof security of the station.
Presiding over the meeting of the Airfield Environment Management Committee which takes place after every six months, a variety of issues ranging from construction near the airforce station to proper implementation of solid waste management rules were discussed at length.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori accompanied by Air Commodore GVK Reddy, Wing Commander Dr. Wassane briefed of progress achieved on the issue discussed in the last meeting.
Mr. Thori asked local bodies officials to ensure the proper functioning of the solid waste management plant at Sham Chaurassi while implementing door-to-door garbage collections in the areas in Sham Chaurasi, and Aawalpur.
He also ordered to do away with the open garbage dumping near the airforce station site while issuing instructions to put an end any kind of construction within the prohibited area.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the forest and municipal authorities to initiate probing of trees nearby Airforce Station to avoid any kind of bird hit instances.
He asked the Municipal Council to further direct the owners of chicken shops and butchers to not throw waste in open where a flock of birds gathers and may cause a potential threat to aircraft operating from this station.
The DC categorically mentioned that the directions to be followed in latter and spirit as any kind of callousness in this task would be highly unwarranted and would attract severe action. On the occasion officials from local administration and Police, departments were also present.
