DCP GURMEET SINGH TO BE CONFERRED WITH CHIEF MINISTER’S MEDAL INDUCTED AS INSPECTOR IN 1993, GURMEET SINGH HAS RARE FEATS TO HIS NAME DURING HIS 27 YERAS OF SERVICE
Jalandhar, 13 August 2021 : Deputy Commissioner of Police Gurmeet Singh is among the 15 Punjab Police officers who have been selected for the Chief Minister’s medal for outstanding devotion to duty.
The DCP would be conferred the medal by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh during the Independence Day event in Amritsar. He has been selected for the award for displaying consistently excellent level of performance in his duties.
A decorated Police officer Mr Singh has been selected for the medal for his outstanding performance as DCP Jalandhar. He has been instrumental in busting various gangs in the past few years. He has also played a very vital role in the campaign again drugs started by the Punjab Government.
Gurmeet Singh had joined the Punjab Police as an inspector in 1993 in district Ferozepur and was posted in various districts across the state as Inspector, DSP and SP before being promoted as SSP in 2015.
Mr. Singh has successfully performed varied jobs in the field during his more than 27 years & 08 months of service in the Police Department. He has done outstanding work in tracing number of cases of blind murder, dacoity and busted gangs responsible for committing such type of crimes.
Presently he is posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Investigation in Commissionerate of Police in Jalandhar.
