DCP CALL UPON PEOPLE TO BE ‘GREEN WARRIORS’ FOR MAKING JALANDHAR CLEAN, GREEN AND POLLUTION FREE

INITIATES PLANTATION DRIVE BY AAKASH INSTITUTE AT LAJPAT NAGAR PARK

Jalandhar, 22 December 2021 :  Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Jagmohan Singh today gave a clarion call to people for joining hands as ‘Green warriors’ for making Jalandhar clean, green and pollution free.

The DCP, while kick starting plantation drive by Aakash Institute at Lajpat Nagar Park today, underscored the need for planting more and more number of trees to enhance the green cover in city. He said that it was the bounden duty of everyone to make stupendous efforts for protecting the environment adding that everyone can play an instrumental role in this entire process by galvanizing more and more people to make such drives a mass movement. Mr. Jagmohan Singh said that trees play a crucial role by conserving natural resources and improving the environment, which is the need of hour especially in wake of the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic.

                             

The DCP said that the sole aim of all such drives should be to ensure maximum green cover in the district through the plantation of trees. He said that all of us should make concerted effort to preserve and improve the quality of air, water and food in the district, thereby ensuring a good living environment for the citizens. Assuring fulsome support and cooperation to people for this noble cause, Mr Jagmohan Singh said that our motive must be to plant maximum saplings for enhancing green cover in district.

                         

Lauding the Aakash institute for taking this path breaking initiative, the DCP said that it is the need of hour to sensitise our younger generation about this noble cause. He also said that this step will go a long way in increasing the green cover on one hand and make the youth of the city more responsible towards environment. Mr Jagmohan Singh also said that the quality training being imparted by Aakash institutes is enabling the students to compete well in the competitive examinations.

Earlier, the DCP welcomed by the branch manager vivek bhadauria and Academic head Rahul Tyagi, and other faculty members.
