CP REVIEWS SECURITY PREPAREDNESS AHEAD I-DAY, ASKS OFFICIALS TO BEEF UP SAFETY MEASURES
Jalandhar, 30 July 2021 : Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar on Friday evening reviewed security preparedness ahead of Independence day and directed the officials to beef up safety measures in the city, especially at all vulnerable places.
While visiting some of the key locations, the CP reiterated the firm commitment of the Commissionerate Police to maintain law at every cost and said that the sole aim of inspecting the arrangements was to make the security system more responsive and efficient. He assured the people that fool proof security cover had already been put in place in the city and no one would be allowed to take the law in its hands.
Mr. Bhullar further mentioned that surprise visits would be conducted by the senior officials regularly to cross-check the security arrangements at vulnerable places adding that field officials should keep a close tab over these locations besides ensuring monitoring of criminals on bail. He categorically said that any kind of laxity in this task would be dealt with heavy hands.
Meanwhile, the CP presided over a meeting with the GO rank officials at the Police Lines where he asked the officials to ensure round the clock patrolling at public places so as to maintain the law and order situation in the wake of ensuring festival season. He said police teams/PCR staff have been monitoring and patrolling in the city round the clock as these places witness high footfall on week-ends including shopping malls, markets, restaurants, and others.
