Congress workers rebel against corrupt and inefficient MLA candidate from Phagwara

Phagwara, 20 January 2022 : In a fresh trouble for Congress the workers of party led by senior congress leader Harjit Singh Parmar and District Acting President Daljeet Singh Raju rebelled against the candidate and sitting MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal.

In a meeting held at a local hotel, hundreds of Congress workers said that they are demoralised as the party has once again ticket to Dhaliwal ignoring the sentiments of workers. They said that Dhaliwal who became MLA in bye election has given nothing to Phagwara except promoting corruption and nepotism. They said that inefficient MLA had ignored the party workers in his tenure and they won’t allow him to win.

                             

They said that the MLA promoted corruption in every field and each officer posted in Phagwara had to pay hefty amount to him. They said that the MLA took commission from the money allotted for the development of Phagwara due to which development of segment suffered. They also said that party has already received a major setback as one of pillars of Congress in Doaba region and former Minister Joginder Singh Mann had already joined AAP and was severely damaging the party.

They said that if Dhaliwal is continued as party candidate then the day is not far when the party will loose it’s deposits from the seat. They said that despite of heavy resentment amongst the cadres party has allotted ticket to a tainted retired bureaucrat who is involved in post matric scholarship scheme which is totally wrong. They asked the party high command to reconsider its decision else the party will suffer huge losses in coming days.
